when ever i make a server in halo pc if i mod i wait like 4 games and then got bored and then i callled my friend kyle (who has halo to) so i said to join my server and he tried but he told me it said Hey the server said that its retrying

maybe you have a firewall up that's blocking incoming data packets (used to update between connected players and the server)

or maybe you accidentally clicked on "create LAN game" instead of "create internet game"

other than those ideas, i'd have to say that either your internet was down when he tried to join (it just recently crashed) or, well, i dunno

You need to forward the halo ports on your router.
