Changing weapon names

can someone get a tutorial for me on how to change the names of weapons on you're HUD. You know: "picked up ______".

You'll need an Hex Editor. Open up your map file, and search for text string the weapon name. Now, rename it to whatever likings. DO NOT ADD ANY LETTERS. You can leave some blanks if the name is shorter though.

i searched for text string, and got nothing.

Try Unicode Text String or something. It's been a while since I've used an Hex Editor.
