Weapon FP Offset Location

Ok, I'm trying to make it so while you hold a weapon in the FP mode, the weapon appears on the left side of the screen, not the right (To make it seem left-handed). Editing the model would be the simple way of course, but that just causes it to get all glitchy when you move it that far. Plus all the firing effects and stuff still appear on the right side, not the left.
I'm looking for a way to offset the location, would I have to dig around in the weapon's animation trigger with a hex editor?
BTW, i don't care about the cyborg FP hands animation crap, i've got that covered

Oh, you can't do that in Halo PC properly. It's all in the FP animation. The MC's hand nodes just hold the weapon in that position.

I'll find a way...

Like I just said, you can't, because Halo PC does not allow node/marker editing and rotation. It's all in the custom FP animations.

And I'll find the offset that controls the weapon's location.

There is no offset, learn your info. It is an animation, not some HEX editing crap. Those are actually created in Max, and no one has customized animations in PC directly.
It's not possible in PC, unless you convert it.

Only possibility is to convert the animations from CE to PC.

not anything is possible, bloodalcohol and 1 of his friends programmed a co-op mode but u need atleast 512 mb ram for the worst game play, bloodalcohol has like 768 or sumtin like that and he was getting memorie leaks and a lot of slow gameplay, and it is 3.5 gigs, i need to ask BA for his friends email i want the coop mode, it has tooken thema LONG time to PROGRAM the start menu to display Co-op Mode and find a way to connect, but then again u can do that in UI to change it to Co-op mode and then just do full conversions and add AI but somehow found a way to fix it for other ppl

just becasue something hasn't been done yet doesn't mean it can never be done!!!!!
You can be the first to do something...
You just gotta TRY first

Lol! These are COMPRESSED MAP FILES! You can't extract animation files into Max format from them, and re-compile Max animations from .jma/.jmr/.jmo into them! That requires the de-compressed format of the files.
It's so hysterical watching you guys talk about this...there is no such thing as an "offset" location for the weapon. It is just a damn animation file. You can't re-edit the animations in PC, because they are time-lined and structured. The MC's hands are just positioned that way, the gun is moved over to that spot, and linked to the wrist. That's all. To make it left handed, all the person has to do is make new animations on the left side of the MC!

I think he's another one of those Halo CE Fanboys.
I'm sure there's a way to mirror all the animations without using Max.
You don't need to extract.
Just open the map file itself, it's in there, and then screw around with the coordinates of the vertices or points, they've gotta be stored as a value in there somewhere.

No, it's not vertices. It's DAMN ANIMATIONS. Hello, listen.
I don't give a fucking shit if I'm a Halo CE fanboy. Complain all you want. I've been on both sides, and already know the capabilities. YOU CANNOT, I repeat, CANNOT move the gun to the left hand in Halo PC. You can't mirror the hands either, because then each coordinate would come out screwed up and it would be flopped on a completely different side.

Screw the hands, that's not what I cared about, I wasn't trying to move the gun into his left hand.
Note that animations just control what vertices move, where they move and when they move. An animation just changes these points' position, which are linked by the indicies. I understand what you are talking about, and I agree that offset was the wrong word to describe it.
Also I'm not complaining. If anyone's complaining, it's you complaining about how stupid we are. Calm down, this isn't a debate, and I'm noticing an increasing number of asteriks in your posts.
Actually it now means nothing to me, since I have long abandoned this meaningless project because I have other ones to work on now.

The animations have NOTHING to do with vertices or indices. It has to do with frames, or little boxes, representing each portion of the arm (hand and fingers and all).

couldnt you just move the cyborg hand markers? sure he hold it rather... owkward but it should work....
if that would work i could make a plugin for this, i would just need to figure out how ti find the offset for a reflexive in a reflexive in a reflexive then i could easly make it

No, you can't, because then the node placement won't be right for the model/animation., and you'll have fubured animations. A simple plugin won't do anything. It's straight from the original source.
