How Do u Make Mods?

yo guys this is me 1st post er and only joined today and im just wundering how ya make mods plz reply
Get HMT 3.5(check the files forums under utilities)
Then open a map file (c:\program files\microsoft games\halo\maps)
Then mess around with stuff in there. Thats how I learned.
Do you have a specific mod in mind?
