ok im making a mod. what do you want more? A flying and armed life pod or armed pelican? Its not going to be a pelican that poeple can ride in just to let you know now.

a life pod has no room for guns what with all the thrusters.

You could do both.
Make lifepod really fast,and pelican slow,but with weapons,so it balances things out

i think the Longsword would be even cooler despite its size.
