Exception Error....

i completed the PMI for a dropship and its turret into bloodgulch and when i started up the map it said ...."Gathering Exception Data" .....what the hell is wrong.........?

please give more detail to what you did.
You probably didnot add a essencial file, or forgot to decrap something maybe.

exception error means you screwed up somewhere, please give a step-by-step of what you did, and dont just copy the tut because if you had followed it correctly it would work.

ok lol i followedthe tut COMPLETELY except i had some..... unsure things to do .....
4. Next, if you're extracting a machine for injection, like a door, or a vehicle, like the Pelican, you'll need to save the meta for the main tag too (like the tag for the mach of a door, or the vehi tag of the Pelican. Save it to C:\PelicaninBG\PelicanMeta again.
i didnt understand what was ment here because i had already accomplished doing this.....
3. Now, click the Save meta button. Create a new folder: C:\PelicaninBG. Within that, create a new subfolder, and then save the meta to C:\PelicaninBG\PelicanMeta.
i did step three fine but step 4. thru me for a loop.
then on this step i wasnt sure what i was supposed to do....
9. Find your model in the list, or in this case, "Vehicles\Pelican\Pelican." Click it to highlight it, and hit extract. Save the model to the spot where the mod2 data that we recursively saved earlier is located in. In this case, it's in C:\PelicaninBG\Pelicanmeta\Vehicles\Pelican.
i saved Vehicles\Dropship\c_Dropship and i saved Vehicles\Dropship\c_gun_turret is that all i needed to save?!?!
so i wasnt sure what to save there. here on step #24 i wasnt sure what to place into the "additional files section" so i put the ones i extracted ealier, the dropship and the dropship turret.........was i supposed to put anything else in here?
24. For original map file, choose the map you just pasted in the New Build folder. For additional files, select the model that you're injecting, and if you're injecting something like a vehicle, it's main tag too, like it's .vehi tag, or it's .mach tag (In this case the Pelicans .vehi tag.). Just those are needed. Everything else is added automatically.

please be patient, i dont know what pmi tut you followed but it looks seriously complex, try following a simpler tut, i know i have a few laying around somehwere, i'd link 'em if i knew where..... to late at night for me to post a tut from memory, maybe i'll post one tomorrow.....

i followed the only tut on PMI there is here lol the sticky out in the forum saying " PMI simplified " and somthing like that but yes please post a better tutorial on how to do this ....thanks.

here's a basic tut
1. extract ur map
2. Extract bsp/ model chunk to the levels/test/<mapname> folder
3. recursively extract the vehicle you want to the same folder u extracted ur map to.
4. do cvs thingy with the model, extract the raw data to the vehicles folder
5. de-crap your model using the verticies, indicies, and sbsp IN THE LEVELS/TEST/<MAPNAME> FOLDER.
6. re-build ur map adding ONLY the vihi.meta for the new vehicle.
