need help getting a gun into BG

i just modeled a gun and just wondering how to put it in. ive search so dont say that.

Have you completly modeled an entirely new gun?Or edited an existing one?

You would have to rebuild the map with the new weapon.
Follow a tut to ass a new weapon to bg.Then change around the models,bitmaps,ect.....
Rebuild and you have a new weapon

You'll need to know the indecies and vertecies of ur new model first i think, otherwise the model will look really crappy
I think you can add it in by messing with an .mod2.xml file after a batch extract, but it would be very complicated

i have no idea about modeling!
XML, however, well, thats different. (i know, but still suck!)
but notepad will let you edit the XML files. Hex editors are for the .meta 1s!

oh, is that that thing that has a bunch of numbers then every once in a whiel you might see a recognizable word? i hate that!

dear god... that xml thing is complicated.... what if i just wanted to put a model in, not all the animations n shit?

I wish I knew some VB or C++. An xml editor for halo would be so incredibly easy to make.
Just look at the filename refs and above that is the ID tag thingy (backwards, like weap is paew). Then you know what it is. Easy as pie.

Yeah, but some people are confused by it. It looks daunting but it's really not.
And I too am 15 (near 16). I know some other languages, BASIC

, small (scm), java, html (not that it matters), whatever language mIRC uses, LISP, and loads of game scripting (Tribes 1 is my favorite next to Abuse). I'm sure it can't be that hard, I just need to learn how to do a few things.

yeh, lol, who knows what mIRC uses...some weird language that was used by the 1337 h4x0rs when they were doing their homework....i am good at it btw...lol, and for the gun... tou are going to have to just rebuild ot and change some things...there is a tut in the files forum the last time i checked...

theres a xml tut? i dont know what to do because i dont know how to actually get the gun in the game all i see is the stuff inside it. can i get a lin kor something? or if u could tell me here... thanx

oh and i tried just importing it as a obj file and it had some error i dont remember it tho
