Yeah, you usually just have to change the biped. But in some cases the biped you changed to can't attack. For instance, if you try to be the monitor (guilty spark) on any level, you won't be able to attack.

DO you not understand what the phrase oh my god means dumass.

Besides, if you change the biped of the mc to that of a flood then you would have the ai of the flood interfering with the movements you make with the keyboard causing the game to crash. in a simpler form the game cannot handle two movements at once for the same character.

This is wrong. The main character's biped, no matter what it is, has only one actor: the player. If every biped besides the cyborgs had AIs in them from the beginning, we would've had multiplayer bots as an easy map rebuilding no-skiller.

hahaha albert man ur so stupid, have u even tried it? AI is completely seperate from the biped. it is a controller that is somehow connected to the biped during the game. much like spawning in multiplayer. it spawns an elite/grunt/whatever with a computer controller. i have no idea how the AI works or where it is in the map file, but i know that AI is not part of the biped. except of course for the more simple AI such as that of the covenant gun turret on the bottom of the dropship. this AI doesn not need a path or unique specifications that tell it to roll when shot at, or where to pace back and forth when no enemies are near, or what rock to hide behind. all that is in this AI appears to be something that tells it to shoot humans. this is what i have found from much time messing around in hex editor and rebuilding maps in HMT. anyway the reason u cant attack with the plasma sword or hunter's melee weapon, or attack at all when playing as the moniter, is because the hunter's melee and plasma sword were written for computer controllers. it seems that it wont work because it does not have a control on the keyboard or mouse to use it. this is just a theory though. it seems it would be easy to change that, but nobody has been able to use the plasma sword so i guess im wrong. the reason for not being able to attack with the moniter is very simple indeed, the moniter has no weapon. have u ever seen the moniter attack anything? well, im kindah new to this modding and all so someone prove me wrong. sry for the long and boring speech.

i think the hunter's melee and the plasma sword have some form of AI. they attack marines, MCs, and flood only, but they do it automatically.
