Now tryin to make my patch ! DAN!READ!

EDIT:Maying a patch of the map.
when i use ppf-studio to make my patch of my new level its telling me that the two are not the same size. I understand why this is happening because i copied the grenade metas and made duplicates. so how would i make a patch of this then?


I have been working on a new level. Im using HMT 3.5. I am trying to swap Metas of the projectiles. but i want like the grenade to beable to have two or three different values. So different weapons can shoot a grenade at different speeds and lifespans and so on. When i say use the grenade for the AR and make it like a grenade launcher. I change the speed and life span to give it movement. but when i toss a grenade its all messed up. how can i fix this.

Duplicate the grenade. Batch extract the map, copy frag grenade.proj.meta and the xml with the same name, and then rename them to frag grenade2 or something. Then open up the xml file in notepad and change " <Filename>weapons\frag grenade\frag grenade</Filename>" on the 6th line to " <Filename>weapons\frag grenade\frag grenade2</Filename>". Then when you rebuild, be sure and add that file. Then when you open the rebuilt map, swap the assault rifle bullet or whatever with frag grenade2 and you can change it's properties without messing with the original frag grenade.

Well thanks for the reply. I will go try this real quick. it sould like a logical solution to my problem. Also Im trying to inject a block, a dead tree, and two light beacons. How would i inject all 4 at once???

Changing SOme other metas now....

Ok... Dan I appreciate the help. But now I need to create a new damage tag for my grenade launcher... I think i have some clue on what to do. i need to make a new damage tag. And have my weap.xml point to it like i did with duplicating grenade. will someone tell me if this is gooing to work or if there is another way

That's exactly right.

Oh, and just FYI: in the XMLs, the tag ref's are reversed, so a jpt! tag will say !tpj(and probably a long line of funky y's).

Unfortunately, you can't make a PPF of a rebuilt map.

Not with a PPF patch.
There is another patcher for rebuilt maps. Search www.halo-mods.com for it.
