In all honestly, I don't see any use coming from this thread. Yeah... He's stealing tutorials from here, but it's an off site matter. Other than requesting he take the content off his site, we can't stop him from stealing tutorials and such.

Well since no one has suggested it, DMCA take down? Do tutorials qualify as copyrighted literature? A cursory reading looks like they might (they might fail the "nature of the work" requirement). Maybe I just find the idea of having his webhost take the site down because of that amusing. Aside from that though, not much to be down here.

You think hes ripping cause he posted a tutorial and you THOUGHT he was taking credit. look hes not the smartest guy out there. He doesnt rip. Yeah im probably going to get flamed for this but screw you. I talk to pheonix. I actually take the time to get to know him. Now, he doesnt rip content. BCNIpod. go check the dl section. see that credit list. its probably the most detialed one i have ever seen. Honestly. he did some stuff that wasnt right in the past. just fucking forgive him...you guys are dumbasses for bringing this up. bcnipod all you had to say was give me credit on his forums...and he would.

You guys always choose to take the hardest path. I agree with boose. This thread is fail.

Could you give a link to it? I see no such AI tutorial. And I'm pretty sure he hasn't been online to delete it today, because he lives in Bulgaria and usually isn't on yet ( only ever see him on when I wake up at 4AM CST.

Trying to take down his site is a bit much. I believe Andrew to be honest, as he's the only one who actually knows pheonix outside his reputation. He took down your tutorial, and everything is alright. I think we can just drop it now. He doesn't even come to this site anymore, so honestly, as long as it's fixed, I don't care. I didn't exactly care in the first place anyways. There's probably plenty of tutorials that have been ripped from here, the only difference here is, he was caught.

i have looked into it. his site host is in the US, and also i have updated my 2 tutorials so that they are images now, that have "created by: bcnipod" watermarked into them.

@ Andrew: well i spoke with him and he knew someone called "bcnipod" made the tutorial, be just 'forgot' or something even though he claims to have credited me, he did not. the point i am trying to make is that he knew the person that made it, and did not even bother with credits.

@ InvaderVeex: yes, he was on yesterday i spoke with him via PM's and via MSN. the tutorial was posted on the 8th and i requested that he delete it, which he ended up doing.

Also to anyone that is on his site, he is now threatening me if i do not take this post down, which i have no intention of doing.

I think the bottom line in all of this is there really is nothing you can do to prevent phoenix or anyone for that fact of taking anything that has been published here or anywhere and citing it as there own. Between proxys and ip masking seriously there just are no sure safe guards.

but then again who cares if he does? I sure the hell dont. He could take my skinning tutorial and paste it somewhere else and call it his own and im not going to loose sleep over it. Its not like he's gaining anything from it except the hopes of internet fame/glory seeking which is also sad if you need respect from the internet to feel better about your own self worth.

Also, so he does rip a tut or mod? What if hes asked to reproduce the results or to go more indpth and explain some things involved in it. He wont be able too and will look like a fool regardless. Besides, if he can read threads like this one for exmple then all your doing is feeding his ego by keeping on talking about him. Just let the topic drop...

There are thousands of halo modding sites that have tons of ripped tuts on them with no c redit to the author and what are you going to do about thoes? You cant do anything except brush it off and move on. The final point in all of this is that HaloMods is the most complete/Popular place for a mod to be showcased on the net. HaloMods does have governing rules on citing credits and sources. HaloMods can not control what people do outside their webspace nor bother to govern shifty people who download/take content for their own personal gain and use it off site.

If your that worried about your work being stolen then simply remove it from the site. On the net nothing is 100% safe from being taken and used somewhere else. You have to accept that when you press submit or your just fooling yourself into believing that everyone is honest on the net. Drop the topic and let it be. The fact that this made 2 pages taking about this dude again is just saddening and by keeping talking to him and posting his convo excerpts do nothing to stop the issue nor will it ever do anything.

Honestly the problem is being made worse by rehashing the situation over and over again like some petty middle school drama with a "he said. she said" game to which has nothing to do with modding at all. it has more to be with personal ethics on what behavior is socially correct with ripping content from this site to place on another for their own personal benefit. It happens everyday on many sites not just here. Just drop it and move on. The fire will go out soon enough if you stop tossing gas on it daily.

To everyone saying that this thread is full of fail, actually think for a moment or two about what the purpose of this thread was. I know how much we all love to just post whatever pops into our heads, but if you actually read the topic and thought a lil' bit, you'd realise this is just to warn people that he's stealing people's shit again.

Pepsi, it's great that you dont mind him taking your tutorial, other people do. They dont want somebody to go robbing them of something that they put time and effort into making and calling it their own. And if you feel like just pretending nothing's happening and hoping it'll go away, then you do that. I'll use logic and reasoning skills, and come to the conclusion that somebody's not going to stop taking crap if everyone's fine with it. You go ahead and sit back in your chair while some guy robs your T.V., but dont be surprised when you look back and see it's gone.

Whether or not he meant to rob it, nobody can be 100% sure except for developer/phoenix. Theres no point for constant arguing here, the purpose was served, people realised that something was taken without credit being given, and thats that.

oh, and btw, stop bashing the kid on his enlgish. He's from bulgaria, and he learned english as a second language. Im sure you guys would be a bit confusing talking on a spanish forum.

Yes, that was the purpose of posting this. I want to let this die now. I have already had someone, who will remain nameless, contact me about the URL to Phoenix's site to see if any of their work is up there. so this topic served its purpose. i have put measures in place so it does not happen again, to me anyway. if you are concerned about your own work, my advice is to protect it, so this does not happen to you.

he didnt say he struck back, he said he struck again, as in he took someone's work again without crediting it. Once again, nobody knows if he did it purposely or not, but he did it. Case closed really, this topic is in desperate need to be locked.
