I use to use hex editing when that was the only way to do things, but I moved to HMT because I realized that everything I had been doing in a hex editor could be done in HMT and was easier.

And I have a question for you, dude. WHAT THE HECK IS FUN ABOUT EDITING HEX VALUES?! It's not "fun" whether you do it in a hex editor or in HMT. The fun part is playing with the mod you create.

What is it that you are doing in hex that can't be done in HMT?

I could use a hex editer to mod, but i use HMT because it is faster. I think you are just announcing this because alot of the people here joined after HMT was released and they never learned to hex edit because it wasnt needed. and you are just trying to act superior to people who use HMT because you are using a more complex method to make mods.

There are some things that can only be done with a good old fashoned hex editor, but hmt is much easier for most things.

actually EVERYTHING can be done in hmt it just needs to be scripted to do it.

ok read this because we can now edit the # of grenades held at one time
and soon the # of weapons held at one time .

OK, this data is held in the game globals section. Keep in mind I haven't tested these, but I was pointed in this direction fairly explicitly by Iron_Forge, so I'm pretty sure they are the right offsets. At both of the offsets will be an 04, change it to what you want.

For Frag grenades go to game globals + 4F8
For Plasma grenades go to game globals + 53C
discovery by iron forge and plaz
the counter only goes up to nine but its still kick arse !

Yes, at the moment that specific thing can only be done through hex editing....until someone writes the plugin for HMT that does that. :wink:

Ok. Ok. U disagreed with me... I know you can't do it. Is PC shader in Hmt3? No... Is Shader Model? No. U've got to use the Hex Editor. And much more that isn't in Hmt3

what shadow?
i swap plama shaders and all that, why would you want to swap a pc shader or somethin else?

also...you can't actuall view bitmaps in hex....so that elminates skinning totally...but that is the only way to duplicate meta...through hex that i know of
