skinning help

I need help, heres what im doing:
Save texture, convert to png, reskin, convert back to DDS, apply skin
i get this

am i doing something wrong?

im getting this for every skin i make

No. Save dds, edit dds, inject dds without updating the size if it asks. (AKA: That big paragraph that pops up)
