Destructable Bridge Idea

Post by dmanbiker »

I had an idea that I've never really seen before on how someone could make an extremely primitive destructible bridge. I tested it, but sadly I don't have the means or education to make it not look like crap, which I'm fine with. It did work somewhat though. Here are some screenshots of what I got to work with it.

Obviously the way I attempted it is grossly simple, but it's the best I could do. Anyway I'm just posting this encase anyone hadn't thought of this before, and could do a waaay better job than I can.

I just crappily remodeled the scorpion tank. Dependency swapped it for scenery in HHT, swapped it into BA, flipped some upsidedown across the middle. Changed the gravity to zero, and was done. I was just doing it as a test not for any specific mod. Anyway does it seem like a good idea? I'm never going to use it anyway, just an experiment. :P

Pretty cool idea, actually :)
You should try to improve on the bridge model, cause the tank treads are ugly ;p

Yes they are. If I ever use it in the future which there's a small chance I might, I'm going to probably use something else. It looks really bad in game :P But it worked so I'm glad with that.

That is actually a really cool idea you came up with, then if you're like half way over the bridge you can be like, knocked out of the way and stuck in the middle of nowhere haha. Not too pretty, but it works, and that's what matters. :D

It's just a prototype guys so take it easy, It's actually a really great idea and could add a really cool element to any map, that's actually really cool that you posted this idea.

We know this.
We weren't 'flaming' him or anything of the sort.

I'm really really terrible at modeling hehe. I've attempted modeling actually quite a few times and my attempts at modeling are the worst I have ever seen out of anyone in my entire life; so that's my main problem. And the collision model is always a problem too, but I think I might be able to figure that out if I put a lot of time into getting the hex editor.

Just make your own physics tag in ce (Which is quite difficult, and do what you did. Wait, make it a vehicle and make it have a damaged model.
