Heres the problem, i downloaded the halo trial awhile ago and decided i'd mod it yesterday. I downloaded Sparkedit and halo map tools 3.5. I made like a warthog trophy truck type of map. It was pretty cool but got boring. So i switched to the old original map and it's the same. The halo map tools 3.5 still make it go about 10X faster the Sparkedit still has my track and there's no way to kill anyone (I Made it so you couldnt shoot any gun only melle) I've deleted The sparkedit and the halo map mods 3.5 but to no avil. It still is the same. How do i get the orignal map back? Also i have reinstalled the trial.
Are you on vista? Run Trial as an Administrator. If not, then I'm not sure. MAke sure you always make back-up maps, and make sure you mod the maps in your halo folder, not your backups.
YEs i am on vista, but liek i said i have like 3 back up maps But the damn program continues to just mess them up. Ill try to run it as an admin right now im uninstalling anything with the word halo in it

Uhh, i need a little help. I downloaded the trial, and i read about ppl with the trial having maps downloaded. I wasnt aware this was possible without full version. I also cant figure out how to do it. Are you allowed to make the map (bloodgulch only) anyway u want it? Plz help me.
You can only download maps that do not contain content made by bungie that isn't already in Trial
So you can download a map for Trial with ghosts. Or a custom vehicle made ENTIRELY by somebody.
You cannot (legally) download a map with a Flood Biped in it, or with BSP pieces from Single Player maps other than B30.map
So if the map has bungie-made content that's not already in trial, then it's bad.
You are allowed to mod it in any way you want, bungie isn't gonna do anything about it they don't care.
What you can't do is rip stuff from other games and post it here, because the Admins come, and that doesnt lead to something good.
If you rip stuff for yourself and friends, thats fine. Just dont post about it here. No links or downloads.
i downloaded the sparkedit and sparify, but it dosnt work. Ppl say u have to "patch" it, but i dont know wat that means. So, i opened up sparkify, but it said i had t choose a file to open it with, so i chose sparkedit. Then i went to my maps and chose Bloodgulch. Wouldnt work. So i Opened Sparkedit WITHOUT sparkify, and when i tried to open bloodgulch, it said at the bottom : "Compiling tag relationships". WTF? I have no clue wat that means and it never get past that point.
You need the program ppf-o-matic. Then when you use the patch just select what file to apply it to (bloodgulch.map) and hit apply. Unapply the patch when you're done using it.
but i have no idea wat u just said and i DO-NOT-KNOW-WAT-A-PATCH-IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[quote="Altimit01"]PPF = playstation patch format. A simple patching system that easily allows the distribution of mods. As of 3.0 it works in two ways to record just the changes between two files. So if the files are the same size, and mostly contain the same data then the ppf of the difference between those two files is going to be very small. The two ways a ppf stores changes are by storing the offset of the difference along with the different data (go to x offset in file and change to y data to make file A become file B) and an offset, data and repeat block that takes care of repetitive data (go to x offset, write y data z amount of times). This is the tutorial for making PPFMaster the program that creates and applies .ppfs works.

PPFMaster The first thing you need is PPFMaster, a program by ScotiaSoft systems for the creation of PPF Patches. You can download it form the utilities page. Also, you need to have a modded map, along with the original.
