Modding challenge that can be easily done, ultra cool mod!!!
Ok, I need a few good modders to look at this.
I just read the Mod of the Month choices and I got a great idea. Why dont you combine chain spawning along with AI and such. Blood Gulch with a mine field and red and blue Marines? The Covenant respawn on the teleporter places, just to make things interesting?
It is possible, but can someone do? Im sick and tired of hosting for 3 hours and nobody shows up, it would be fun if Marines and such would just spawn, run at each other across the field, battle, and you can sit back and watch and join the fighting.
Also, you could have variations of this, such as a LOTR version or something.

I was pretty sure that the AI won't react to other players, just each client's AI to its client.Sharkface217 wrote:If both people have the mod and good connections, probably. I say definatly over LAN. THe only problem I could think of is a guy dying, but you lag and he lives for a while before just dying.VGChampion wrote:Do the ai mods works over the internet?

No, with the new mod and HMT 3.5, Im sure you could program an AI bot to just attack Red/Blue players. Or if they Covenant, both.

Any voluenteers???? Any comments???
Well, very positive of you. Besides, this could be one person, closed and locked server only. 1 MC, ur him in a dry box canyon in the middle of nowhere, fighting Mariens in a vs battle or you and Marines at blue base battling Covenant, which outnumber you 3 to 1. And what is the difference between chain spawning working over the net than with bots that just rush forward and shoot stuff. I mean, it just like the idea of chain spawning. Chain spawning was an insane idea nobody thought of, but it was incredibly simple to do. THe dude who made that mod was definatly thinking "outside the box". If you can do that over the net, how is that different from bots that just rush forward and shoot stuff?

In a locked 1 person server, yes, this would work perfectly if the bots could respawn. So that is very possible. But it working online is very unlikely.
So? Do you know what this means? It is now possible, all the right elements, to actually make a Halo-like game. Ill post more later. Thanx Dan!!!, you just gave me a brilliant idea..........................

Ok, my brilliant idea.
It just dawned upon me that we have all the elements to make Halo, say we had everything in seperate parts, but they werent together. Now, with all the advancements we have made, can we take a map, say THe Maw, and re-write over a multiplayer map, AI and all, to make that same map. Now, if it is possible to play a Halo map somewhere other than Halo, we could, possibley, make a totally different game from Halo but with the stuff from Halo. So instead of beatign the game and getting bored with multiplayer, we could, possibley make a new game that is exactly like Halo but with different maps and such. A new game, same plot and such but instead of the other maps, the Covenant could be on multiplayer lvls. OR you vs. Marines, like a wwII type thing or something. OH well, ill iron this out later.

are you dumb? HMT doesn't program anything, it just changes properties, in order for halo to have working bots, you would need to program a system that sends signals to every other player, put the bots on teams, set up bot spawning, and a whole lot of other crap, its not worth it, especialy with over 2000 people playing halo every day.Sharkface217 wrote:Dan!! wrote:I was pretty sure that the AI won't react to other players, just each client's AI to its client.Sharkface217 wrote:If both people have the mod and good connections, probably. Ok, I get your point. But what if you could just have closed server AIs, like Blood Gulch LOTR battle or something, or Death Island with a few Marines. God, you dont have to flame me.............
