I've heard it's in the shaders, but what shaders? I tried the powerups/activecamo for the shader transparency variant- it game me a semi-transparent red shader.
I've heard it's in the rasterizers, but rasterizers are a group of bitmaps.
I've heard it's in the bitmaps, but I read it wasn't- I also saw this through experiementation.
I heard you can do this by swapping a powerup with a vehicle- I tried it and it didn't work- also I heard vehicles won't always function correctly.

Somewhere on modhalotrial.com awhile back, I heard that someone was able to recreate the active camo effect for the hog. they said the only "problem" was that it took a projectile hit to activate it. Several people asked how he did it, but he told them to find out for themselves...

Anyone know how?

if you take the meta for a vehicle and replace a weapon, it will have active camo, that's all i know.

Alright, here's what active camo is.

I'm pretty sure it's 2 bitmap tags put together over your body-powerups\active camoflage\bitmaps\camoflage and rasterizer\active camouflage distortion.

Try putting the first one over the hog's bitmap, and the 2nd one over the hog's multi. Maybe that would work. I don't know.

If that doesn't work switch the order around-the 2nd one on the hog's body and the 1st over the multi. Then I guess you could do the same for the turret and wheels, and paste cryo glass bitmap over the displays and the turret blur, and make the driver, passenger and gunners invisible in the seat properties. I'll try this later too.

For now you try it though.

I tried that out, both ways- the first gave me a reddish, partly invisible (not camo) warthog. The second one gave me a completely visible white warthog. those bitmaps are apparently for the powerup item themselves, not the actual camo. I think the active camouflage is not a bitmap, but some kind of screen saturizer, or whatever you call it, like the sniper rifle night vision.

The first bitmap muffin mentioned was the powerup bitmap, the second that actual distortion bitmap.... reference? map? distortion scale? IDK what to call it, but it is the bitmap that affects the invis i *think*.

I looked for dependencies for the active camo, and all I can say is that there are none that go beyond the powerup. I checked scenario, equipment, items, biped, and bitmaps. There are none? I can't find it!

I just need to know how to trigger the active camo effect. Is it even in the map files?

its called guerilla...CE users have it...HMT is a smaller version of guerilla...Guerilla is way better :P

i have a halo trial map made by someone with a camo tank in the middle of the level that has the camo efect and distortion. I open it up in hmt and find there is only one tank vehicle, despite there are 2 tanks, one normal textured and the other completely camo, i dono how to do it but i know its possible.

also you can make a warthog completely see through by switching its bitmap with something glass, i forgot but its in the campaign bitmaps, this way also makes it so you can see the person inside (kinda gay). The tank i have n the trial mod is perfect invisible with distortion and you cannot see the person inside, doing that would be realy helpful.

this is true, and the only way i know how to do it. but it works, its how i make active camo vehicles in my AI mod. real active camo.

yes if you look at my mod 1 out of every 5 shees that spawn are invisable. are you trying to use the same weapon for all the vehicles? if so that wont work. 1 vehi for 1 weap.
