turning mods on and off
I was going to get (my first) mod for halo pc, and I was wanting to know some stuff about it. I'm going to get a paintball mod. how do you turn the mod on and off? does everyone need the mod to 'paintball'? if I got into another game and I leave the mod on, but the host desnt have it, will I still use paintballs? does all guns, and vehicles use paintballs? thanks for you help.

to turn it on and off go to ur backup files, right click on the map file u want to turn back to normal select copy. now go to your halo/map filem, right click in an empty sapce, select paste, DO U WANT TO REPLACE THE OLDER FILE WITH THE NEWER ONE? select yes (remember to back up your moded map). to turn the mod on. just copy and past the moded map in the map files.
for the MP mod thing. if your on another game (u didnt hoste it) then the mod aplys only to u ex. ..with 1 hit kill...... you get shot once you die, they get shot twice the r alive. so u will se the painballs and die but they wont.

so basicly all I have to do is copy and past the file for the mod (can I past it in to word or something?) and like the paintball mod, if I go into a game I aint hosting I still shoot paintballs, but do they still kill at the same rate? or do they do nothing?
how do I take the mod out of the file? do I have to have the game copyed onto my computer?

silver, i would just like to say you're an idiot.
ok slayer, what you have to do is make a backup of the map by copying it and pasting it in a different location. after that, you apply the mod to the original map file, and when you want to go back to regular bloodgulch, you replace the modded one with the copy you made. as for the mod on unmodded servers, to you it will look like you have the mod, but you will play as if you didnt.

ok, but how do you copy the game file? do you have to have the whole game saved to your hard drive? ohh and does everyone that plays the game (that I'm hosting) have to have the mod for it to work good?
would it be posible to have 2 halo games on my computer? one that has all the mods, and one thats clean, and has no mods?
sorry that I seem like a idiot, but I've never done mods before, so I'm kinda new at this

to back up files.
1)make new folder and name it somthing like back up maps
2) open the halo map folder
3)right click on a map and select copy
4) right click on a empty space in your back up folder and select paste.
5) repeat untill all maps have been copyed
*note you can do the same with moded files (just DON'T put them in the same back up folder, make a new folder called moded files*
now you can just copie and paste the files over onother
ex... copy then paste a un-modded map to the halo map folder,(that has a moded map in it), then when it says do u want to replace existing file say yes.

yes. the game uses the map from C/: program files/ halo/maps
so have the games that will play in the halo/maps file, and then have moded maps in a nother file elsewhere, then have your backup maps in anoder file elswhere.
and i just told you how to back up maps. tell me what dont you get.
maps = the levels
the levels = maps
the levels are on the maps. they are the ,,,same,,,,,, THING!

ok, I got the files saved to my desk top (one file with all non moded games and vice versa) and I've saved a few modes to it. and I guess I can just right click the map button (halo maps in C dive) and past the moded game file and vice versa right?
ohh, and does everyone need the mod for the game to work right, or can I (host) just have the mod?
thanks for your help guys!

you need a program to make them go into the maps. get the ppf-o-matic it is good. its free too. to use it open it up, the isofile is the map file(you have to make it look for all files, and the map canot be modded), the patch is the ppf file. then hit aply, and now your done. MAKE SHURE TO BACK UP YOUR FILES!!!!!!
get the ppf o matic here
