how to separately record?

i want to externally record sound, i just want to know, what preferances do you all have to programs doing this, i might decide to make a series of halo shorts and i want to know how to add sound to my videos

Use FRAPS, I think.... Tell me wich movie maker Program you are useing...

using fraps, but, it records sound, but how do i externally record sound?

u could record video and tyake out the video to leave sound
