Don't download a full game for free; chances are it's either America's Army or a crack.
I understand if you have a loss of money etc., or just don't fell like spending it, but a crack really sucks. Cracks cannot be updated or else they will not work. This is because the crack is a different .exe for Halo. The cracked .exe is essential for the game to work because normally it would look for a CD or something else. When it tries to update, it can't work with the new files and stuff. Also, Microsoft made it so that you can only play multiplayer with other cracked games. This game is worth buying.

>:-> suprnova does have a real Halo. I wouldn't rely on it though, I tried to dl it, but 2 files got screwed up. ed2k is the way to go (finally it can something right). As for the cracks, you can get a new one each time they update it. I have a downloaded version. I admit it. I'm not gonna buy halo for $50 or $60 or whatever and buy an $80 video card so I can play it, that's retarded. There's tons of people with a cracked halo, so cracked servers aren't hard to come by. If you have a good video card already, I would download it and send Bungie or gearbox the money to pay for it. Micro$oft sucks balls.
