Is This A Good Video Card?
Actually, a geforce ti4200 is a much better choice than a gf4mx, fx5200 or radeon 9200.XeRoWaVe wrote:so a gf4 ti 4200 sucks? does it support dx9?

a fx5200 is supposed to be dx9 compatable. and a geforce mx4xx is equal to that of a gefore2Icetiger wrote:Actually, a geforce ti4200 is a much better choice than a gf4mx, fx5200 or radeon 9200.XeRoWaVe wrote:so a gf4 ti 4200 sucks? does it support dx9?
whether you notice it or not a ti4200 does not support dx9 so you do lose some visual eye candy per say.Coylter wrote:My friend play halo with a ti4200 and he get very good fps in 800*600.....i did not notice any difference in visual quality again my Radeon 9800pro...
but i do get 3 time his fps

its going to be hard to notice actual quality after a certain point, ull notice like on straight lines or edges if ur moving in or away from them or left and right ull see that jaggedness move aross it on better cards thats less and less, and also like u said ull get more fps, u can run more smoothly on higher resolution, and often experence less frame loss or "lag", not in the sense that everyone is used to but more of skipping frames and not getting a smooth game.
Hey, I have the ATI Radeon 9200 and Halo looks great and eveything, but sometimes (alot of the time) when I join a game or leave a game (hell, even when Im in the game) My computer restarts. Should I get a new card? I have about 330 bucks, but Im betting I need around 500 bucks for a card that will let me play halo with no errors or inturuptions.
Could someone help me out?

if u want to get a new card thats fine, but u dont need 500 dollars for a amazing vid card, like i have a 9800pro 256 ultimate and it works flawlessly, but if u want to save another 20 bucks or whatever it is get the 9800xt, its the best gaming card thats on the market, its 420 at most places, newegg.com is a good place to buy computer parts.
just reinstall your graphics card drivers. that should solve your problemZildjian wrote:Hey, I have the ATI Radeon 9200 and Halo looks great and eveything, but sometimes (alot of the time) when I join a game or leave a game (hell, even when Im in the game) My computer restarts.
