Through walls?

Through walls?
How do you make projectiles go through walls? I'm making a type of rail gun, but with the spiral beam like from quake...
Signature over 500 Pixels in width. Plese correct this before reposting.

Then how come the sniper rifel goes through people and still does it's damage? I'm sure you can make a projectile unable to tell the difference between the two types of collison models, its just that your pobably going have to set its range or you will end up having a lot of unused (or used but wnet through) bullets all over the place. But here is your challenge, how are you going to make the user see through those walls?

and oh well, yeah, projectiles dont actually *have* a collision model...
