I'm new here... and some help on model swapping in hex...

Hi there, I've had halo for ages but never really considered modding, especially since it voided your xbox warantee. But hey, now that HPC's out... Anyway, you may or may not recognise me from HBO.

Well, I just started today on the whole modding thing. To be precise, I kicked off with Lax's Elite body swapping guide. More on that later. Then, I went to Hex basics 101. Pretty simple stuff when you think about it.

The one problem is that I tried to download Break Point's Hex workshop but the download took ten minutes and on the last few seconds it reset so you can imagine how frustrated I was having to use the plain HexEditor.
Anyway, the main problem is that when I try swapping the cyborg model with the elite model in SC, I have this little problem.

I don't know if this makes a difference, but with Iron Forge's Offset retail guide, he lists the last letter of every offset in certain levels different from the rest. different for every few levels.
Eg= In PoA, ieach offset would end like this: ******1, AotCR: *******0, and so on with a different ending number every level if you get what I mean. The thing is that it doesn't make a difference in HexEditor. In every level, it has the same ending offset: 0. No matter what the level. Strange.

Anyway, when I fire up the silent cartographer or whatever other level I've modified, the game crashes and this error message comes up:

We have detected one or more of the Halo PC files has been corrupted or removed. Please remove or reinstall the game.

Now, I know like any smart person if I put back the original map, the problem goes away and I don't have to reinstall halo. So, what the hell is going on?

well your getting an exception error, and the "corrupt" file is the map, so by replaceing it, its back to the way it was.
you probably just mistyped while using your hex editor

 Well, It's fixed now. All I needed to do was download bp's HexWorkshop. It's so much better than HexEditor. You should give it a try, Lax!

Teehee, I personally enjoy making my laag gun shoot MCs. I was a little freaked out when I shot out an enineer with my pistol. Eeew. I can see why bungie cut them out of the game.

I love messing around with my appearance. It sucks with the hunter that you can't swipe your sheild. At least as far as I know, I started with him on SC. Maybe I need to get a checkpoint with someone else then change it to him. Meh.

You know, I would change myself to an infection form, but there's this one thing: Once I wasn't scared of infection forms at all. I guess it really grew on me over the years. I think I've played a bit too much halo as last night I could hardly sleep knowing there could be an infection form somewhere out there. Wait a second, that isn't right.... meh(again). Eeew... I hate the little bristles on the lump of their back. *shiver*

P.S. Uh... do you know how to change it so I don't JUST change my appearance, but I change the side I'm on? Eg. When I change myself into covenant, they attack me anyway and the marines still help me.
I want it to be the opposite.
