Halo has stopped working for some reason..........

Post by Jacob »

Hi this is my first post.....

OK I thought I would try my hand at some mods, I DLed a few and gave them a try, some worked some didnt, one I had to run as a .ppf on BG. so when I found out the mod wasnt able to be seen by others I wanted to get rid of t, but I didnt know how, so I jst deleted the BG map and reinstalled the missing files...........

SO now Halo doesnt work, when I click the Icon, the HALO logo comes up, but then dissappears and a 'Gathering Exception Data" box appears.......after a few seconds, that goes away and then the error report box comes up saying there was an error and Halo needs to be shutdown.....

NoW what can I do to fix the problem, I have already tried reinstalling HALO, and not saving the older files.......what am/did I do wrong?
thanx alot

Usually a "gathering exception data" box means that you have over-modded a map, or a mod u did caused halo to believe that the file is corrupt or something.

Are you sure the map is not modded?

Also you might have accidentally deleted something important...

Maybe one of the mods you downloaded had done something like, oh I dunno, swapping a weapon with an explosion??? :P

No no, it's not the map, it crashes on start up. The only thing I can say is to reinstall Halo. Not just recover the maps.

Or uninstall and then reinstall, just to be sure...

EDIT: WAIT: CHECK YOUR UI.MAP- MAKE SURE IT'S THE ORIGINAL!
