PPF Patch Error!

Does any one know how to fix the error, 1st of all let me explain it, every time I try to make it it freezes, and then says not respong. I had to redownload it like a 1,000 times. I put the Output file whice is the name of it, then I put discription, then next I put the "Original File" which is bitmaps.map located in the HALO/MAPS folder non-modded then I take the other bitmaps.map file in the "Patched File" place, then I press "Create PPF-Patch" it goes about workin on the file, for 1 minute then it freeezes! and says not responding, then I leave it there for an hour and its kindof responding, but the bottom of it is filled up and it's not telling me that it is done, so then i close the file and try to Apply the patch to bitmaps.map, the non-modded one, and then I start game and get Gathering Data sign thingey, does any one know what is rong?[/b]

Are you sure? Because it stays with the blue bar on the bottom, it doesn't move at all. It fills up the bottom box thingey, then if I close PPF studio, And i apply patch to bitmaps.map file, then I load up HALO and I get gathering expectation data. Or what ever it says. What is rong with that, should I apply the patch to blood gulch?
