Help reinstalling HALO!!!!

Post by Veegie »

today when i was reinstalling it...it got up to 94% where it was installing prisoner.map

and it stopped and came up with this error....

Halo Setup encountered a disk error while writing to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\maps\prisoner.map. Make sure your hard disk is not full, and that the file is not in use.

i've restarted my comp to make sure that it wasn't in use....and i KNOW that my hard disk is NOT full

plz

any help is appreciated

save it in another directory.. diff folder.. like instead of saying just instead say custom or sumthing.. and change where u want it to save...
If your significance is that but significant then is there another with significance?

Why would he need to re-install anyways? If it was just a corrupted map file and he didnt have a backup he could have browsed the halo cd to get one from the filecabs folder ... thats what I do.

Anyways, maybe the file the setup was trying to overwrite was read-only or something? Or maybe even bad sectors on the disk...Or he did something silly like have the map file open in HMTv3 at the time he was re-installing :P

Anyways, I never have to re-install :P Cos I just get backups from the CD if I have none, but I have every map backed up in seperate folders anyways...

[edit] Should this post even be in this thread? lol [/edit]
