Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I want more!
This is realy cool, now I can try out all the ntsc mods for blood gulch. Are you going to covertsome more cos that would realy make my day, silent cartographer would be nice as I could try out some of the awsum mods for that.
But any levels cool, I hope you guys do, do somemore. Also to thoughs who have had problems I have tryed this and it workes perfectly, mabey its you ppf tool or your using the cash files instead of the ones of the disk.
MOOREEEEE PLEEASEEE!

what tool did u use? how do you patch the default.xbe with the ppf???!!!??
I was a little confused by doing this, nothing turned out right, but then i saw the light!
Althought you posted a tutorial, it wasen't simple enough for me.
I can thank PALMAN for helpping me out, he sure is a great guy!
This was what he PM me:
ok, there's a tut here:
http://www.halo-scene.com/article.php?23.0
THis is the way: Put the halo disc in your box, FTP your Bloodgulch.map and the ui.map (D:\maps) and the and the default.xbe (D:\) to your pc.
THen, ppf patch the Bloodgulch.map with the huge bg ppf from
http://www.haloskins.com/download.php?view.35
and then patch that file again with the "PAL-BG-pal_2_ntsc_bloogulch_FIX-d3fault_dot_xbe_and_Richie178.zip" from:
http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=69
(notice that you must patch the same file as the last one, not a new Bloodgulch.map!)
Then ppf patch the UI.map with the "PAL-UI-pal_2_ntsc_ui.map-richie178_and_d3fault.xbe.zip" from:
http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=69
Then patch the default.xbe with the "PAL-default.xbe-pal_2_ntsc_default.xbe-richie178_and_d3fault_dot_xbe.zip"
from http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=69
Now, using FTP, make a folder in your Xbox hdd that's called: F:\games\HaloNTSC, now copy the contents of your PAL Halo disc (D:\) to that directory. Now replace the UI.map, Bloodgulch.map, and default.xbe with the ones on your pc (the ones that you patched)
Start it up, go and play bloodgulch (notice it will say Dirty disc when you select another map) and reboot your box, now ftp on your box and go to the cache files (X, Y or Z) and download Cache003.map to your pc, patch it with whatever NTSC mod you like, upload it and overwrite the old cache003.map. Now boot up the NTSC Halo and start playing!
It might be difficult to see if you started the NTSC halo or the PAL halo, so i recommend to delete the Game demo folder from your HaloNTSC, this way it will not show up when your in the game menu. The HaloNTSC will never play any music in the little Bungie movie when you start halo.
I use HCE for applying both NTSC and PAL patches, it works great!
I would be good if we could mod other maps than BG too:)

Try This
U cant get the patches to work if u are patching an xbe/ui that has been modified (ie if u have a halo trainer active)
This patch RoXoRs, means i dont have to play sh***y PAL mods ne more. Hope mods for other maps will be released soon

Gave this a try but every time I try to run it my xbox reboots.
Any idea where I went wrong?
I left out all the single player maps & the demos when I put it all on my HD & I also have PAL Halo on my HD.
Any help would be appreciated!

If only
I tried again-this time putting the ntsc patches on & writing them onto the pal halo already on my HD, which only has the demos folder missing.
Exact same problem.
Is there part of the tutorial missing?
Is there something else I need to change?
PAL halo sucks ass for modding, so if anyone wants to sell me an ntsc copy,I'd be open to it!!

Are you patching the cache files or the compressed files?
Also you can legally download the NTSC version of Halo if you own the PAL version becasue you have already bought the game (I think).

I agree... been playing way too many BG mods lately and getting sick of them
. Not that they're bad.. just have the hunger for another level's mods.
I wish there were some patching format that would scan for data movement in files.. would make these patches only very small (seems like the only major difference is the new string placement etc). I've heard plans for such formats.. but sadly they were never completed and released publically...
Maybe one day...
