I was playing Halo online and a question came to my mind:

Why do people hate banshees so much???

I personally think they are fun and cool, but every time i take one, people tell me that i suck and start betraying me. could someone answer my question?

Because they are cheap, and for noobs who can find no other way to be useful.

i second thar, the ppl that use shees could be easally beaten in a pistol match by my ass...soooo...you get the picture...

yes shees are for n00bs.... not that I don't like them or anything... they're alright but their so cheap...

First thing is the "noob" thing (btw sorry in advance for taking over this thread but it kinda goes with it but imma stray off the subject for just a second). You can call anything "noobish", i can say well using a weapon is noobish you should only melee...because thats where the real skill is. Just because someone doenst play the way you want them to play doesnt mean there a noob. For instance. Im not fond of the pistol (its a bit strong for its own good) but i know people online will use it so i just have to get used to it. I figure if it was put in the game, it was meant to be used (other then obvious exploits such as getting out of the map).

People always use the word "skill" as a good reason why they "shouldnt" use certain weapons..."SKILL" is not dieing. Thats the true skill...if you go to a tournament (not saying i do) and get killed with lets say a warthog that ran over you...they are not gonna give you a medal because you only used a pistol ..they will give the medal to the living team...the ones who won. Sure you can dislike the banshee, or hog drivers, or pistol packers but its all part of the game ya know? So its one of those things we have to deal with in the game...much like lag.

We are not "noobs" because we kill you with a shee or hog or tank. Besides most people like me realize that when your in a vehicle you actually become a sitting duck and its easier to hit lets say the frame of a tank or hog then it is to hit a persons head or body....and besides...if they are noobs and you get killed by one what does that make you?

People hate them because they can't admit the fact that they get owned by one or they can't dogfight worth crap. I have no problem with them because for 1 I can shoot them down. Some people are just used to the GAY in game elites that fly them they can't stand them being that hard to shoot down.

Ill have to agree with UCC.
I don't see the difference between people crapping on about being own'd in a banshee then with people being own'd in another vehicle or with other weaponry...

only difference from any other vehicle is that it flys... And here you have people saying/Asking HOW DO YOU MAKE GHOST FLY.... I mean damn just get a banshee it's easy and better than a flying ghost.

I agree with both kinda, shees are for the noobs, the elites just shoot them down easily. I personally dont use them, but own all shee whores out there.. just get a shotty an shoot like theres no tomorrow.

from my experience, it takes a nOOb to pick up a shee or rocket/nOOb cannon... It never fails, anytime i want to have fun or just screw around, i get the damn nOObs who think that they are sooo good, yet when i say pull out the pistol, ALL DIE

FMPOV, people hate Banshees because you can kill easily in it. You can flatten someone with it, shoot Fuel Rods and all.
Ghosts and Warthogs can roadkill too, but if you miss with it, the opponent has a chance to counter attack, which isn't the case with Banshees. Banshees just cirlce in a second, and kill you.

Just because you pick up a rocket or a hog doenst make you a noob ive killed tons of people with them, the pistol is the strongest weapon in the game inst that kinda noobish? If you want to be anti-noob how aboutjust melee all the time? OH wait you wont do it will you? Know why? because you would lose every game, dont call someone an noob because they have a certain weapon, you are skilled enough to take em out im sure, so just take em out. People who call people noobs are USUALLY noobs themselves. Just learn the strengths and weeknesses of the weapons/vehicles and you will come out on top.

no, just because you pick up a rocket launcher or hop in a banshee dosent mean youre a n00b. its just if you cant shoot it down or not. alot of you people need better skill with all of that, like shooting down a banshee or taking out a rocket guy. the whole game is perfectly balenced

Yes, banshees aren't that great, that why I either play it on xbox, or become the server.

The only problem with the shee now its....is that it has no vaunrabillities, but taht will be fixed in halo 2...and the homeing abilliy of the rocket launcher will make takeing those shees out easier...

basically the shee is like a vehicle that has gone beyond its limits... first... it has unlimited ammo, can fly, no limits on where to go except in buildings... and it cannot be destroyed... thats whats not fair...

if it was limited to something like the warthog where you can blow it up (not litterlay destroy it but stick a plasma on or use rockets) then it would be ok.

its very easy to destory, you just need to latch a plasma nade on it or take it down with another weapon such as a pistol or a sniper rifle. very easy to do

when its up in the air, continusly moving and diving down towards you and bombing you away?

maybe when its low and it comes toward you and its low enough to throw a sticky nade... maybe...

I prefer a assault rifle or pistal when I am not dog fighting in one
