Re: Rainbow Theory
My only thing to point out is that seven is not the holy number of god. (I'm basing this off the bible, not that I know what God's favorite number may be) There are many repeating numbers in the bible, I'm fairly certain 13 comes up half again as many times as does 7 in the bible, and then 3 and 4 are evident every 3 pages. Does that mean that since 3+4=7 and then 3 x 4 + 13 - 4 / 3 = 7 that 7 is the holiest? It had better not or I might question your sanity.
But wait! Not only that, my paragraph above has 101 words and 363 characters! That's 1 + 0 + 1 = 2, and 3 = 1/2 of 6, so it's (1/2) + 1 + (1/2) = 2, that's 2 too! My favorite number is apparently now 2. Who would've guessed?
Theories and random number combinations shouldn't go together if you want to call it a theory.

Re: Rainbow Theory
I once read a comment on a particular theory as follows. "This is how your theory reads: 'Okay, color... means colors... Colors means red must be one of them... THE FORERUNNERS WERE CRAB PEOPLE!!!11!'" Random thought.
----
The theory here doesn't hinge on whether the number seven was the number of God.
----
According to my Physics teacher, a good theory is based on a wealth of evidence and predicts something new. This theory uses (obvious) religious references as evidence that Halo was influenced by one biblical story in particular, the story of Noah. It also predicts more ties to the story of Noah. Whereas "Covenant," Halo," "Flood," etc. are quite obvious, others may be less pronounced. Knowing that two of the seven monitors we have seen have different colors, it follows that the monitors and their halos represent the rainbow which promised protection from the flood.

Re: Rainbow Theory
Sorry, there is not a "wealth" of "evidence," nor does it "predict something new." So even in your Physics teacher's oversimplified explanation, it is still a large stretch to consider this a worthwhile "theory." All it is is a collection of thinly strung together information that was mostly already known and the remaining is mostly irrelevant to the current state of the story. I again reiterate, this is almost entirely pointless. Nothing comes from these claims. They go nowhere. When you're done reading it, you're left with the question "So what?" because the information doesn't mean shit to the direction of the story. It's just there and it doesn't matter.

To this I concede.Tural wrote:Information that was mostly already known and the remaining is mostly irrelevant to the current state of the story.

Re: Rainbow Theory
My brain is hurt, it's hard to understand what you said...But your point is every monitor has every color of the rainbow...and the rainbow actually cycle...and if i didn't get it wrong that every halo have different size and maybe they match with each other right?...Then when they actually match, there is could be a powerful thing that will kill all the flood...maybe...
P/S: yes, i am bad at English so no grammar lesson here...and if i said anything wrong...so sorry

Re: Rainbow Theory
That is incorrect and makes no sense in the Halo story. The Halos are designed to contain the Flood (By removing all possible hosts), they do not need to be placed together to do anything special.IhateRegister wrote:every halo have different size and maybe they match with each other right?...Then when they actually match, there is could be a powerful thing that will kill all the flood...maybe...

"Bungie is obsessed with the number seven. There are seven Halos, seven Moniters, seven is the holy number of God, and a whole other mess of sevens."WaeV wrote:The theory here doesn't hinge on whether the number seven was the number of God.
The opening statement. I never said anything about it being wrong because of that. The "Theories and random number combinations shouldn't go together if you want to call it a theory." was mostly towards a side-theory in the 4.0 version about the Ph scale and the fact that 'Lord Snakie' even included it.
Everything else was made to be plainly obvious by Bungie anyway.
Re: Rainbow Theory
Ah, ok. Most of the side theories were garbage, I agree.

I have trouble explaining things high end.
What im trying to say is i agree with Zieon_esplanade with the 7 theory.
I'm sure the bible has something to do with 7
