unlock engineer in Halo...? (how?)
just so you know i did search the forums and did not find an answer to my question.
i heard somewhere that you can unlock/view an engineer in Halo 1....using a mod or something. can anyone clearify this or help me out? i did find one post about this but that did not make sence let alone help me. basically i would like to know how to do this. thanks

i know people are going to call me a n00b for what i'm about to say (i have no halo programming/modding knowlegde...just a basic idea of how to apply mods)...
a) what is HTM?
b) what is the "marine meta" and how do you swap it for the engineer?
thanks, again.

HMT is Halo Map Tools, you can get it at the fileforums when they get back up
You just open up b30.map with HMT from your halo maps folder and click on the Actv - Actor Variants
You will then see all the names of the models in this map, including the engineer. click the engineer and next to meta you'll see a hex value in the textbox
Copy it and paste it into the marines meta.
Then save and close.
Here are screenshots.

his blubber pulsates, I love it.

Hmm... I wonder... I'm gonna go meta-swap the Elites with the Engineers and see what happens...Angry_Monk wrote:thats cool, what if you replaced the grunt's code with the engineer code? would they try and kill you?
Hahah, the Elites became invisible (not invisible as in cloaked, I mean invisible as they can't be damaged/affected/seen in the game, period) and didn't move or attack. I know this because my reticle would sometimes turn red when it was pointed at empty air.
