Should Halo 2 be released on PC at the same time?
Should Halo 2 be released on PC at the same time?
Yes, I do know that it wont, I am asking hypothetically, that is, if it could. What are your thoughts?
Mine are the second option. My feeling is that Halo came from the Xbox; it is by definition an Xbox game. The Xbox was designed from the ground up for FPS's, so my feeling is that you can't say that the PC is any more deserving of Halo's time. Plus, Xbox Live really is solid, so I think that Halo 2's online experience will own the PC's version, unless it has support for some of the things that Live users take for granted (Voice, Clan Support, Emblems, etc). Furthermore, while the PC can have better graphics, that requires a nice gaming machine, for the same money, you can buy an HDTV that will make Halo 2 Xbox look better than most people who play PC.
But that's just my feeling! What are yours?

I'd say its unfair for ppl who have enjoyed Halo on PC, to wait coz some ppl cant afford an xbox.
Personally, however, i would also choose the second option, and then hope to receive it as a birthday present

Well, and another random point I came up with was that an Xbox is a helluvalot cheaper than a good graphics card. I mean, my graphics card (a 9600 pro. Outdated, I know, but it plays PC just fine, 70 fps) was $200 - an Xbox is $150. Just suck it up and buy an Xbox already, PC owners - it will be a good investment to hold ya.
And by the second option, Demonic, I agree, I never meant to say that it should never come out, just that it shouldn't come out at the same time

you guys are silly....6months max? dood try 2 years...its not as easy to convert crap like that over i would think. Thats why it took so long for the first one. Plus the way the bungie works is they put there all into it. For them to have the game ready in 6 months they would have to be working on it while they were working on halo 2 xbox. Which they arent. SO i say sure in 2 years.

face the facts... no matter how much better halo is for xbox... it was built on PC'S!!! therfore it can be enjoyed on Pc's the same and much more...
for instance halo modding on a pc is a wiz, xbox... u gotta invest more...
plus with Pc's you can get more gamin experience like u can hook up huge theather speakers, hook it up to a project or something like that... and you can still use all the features as in xbox.. except for live... but it can be done...
personally, I dont mind h2 coming out on PC later... I just hope it does come out... which it prob. will.

thats good stuff
you know that graphics card are much much cheaper than xbox... I could buy you a good bunch of them instead of xbox and they would all kick a**
Incorrect, Mac is the roots of Halo. Halo was being made for the Mac, until M$ picked them up, and decided that it would be a good game for their unknown upcoming videogame system, the Xbox. The PC version was just an afterthought of Bungie's. Work on Halo 2 began before work on Halo: PC was. So, if anything, the PC is as far as can be from Halo's rootsATOMIC COW wrote:It should definatley be released at the same time. You can hook all that crap upt to an xbox too so whats your point? ONly difference would be your videocard....processor and ram would make it load faster and look nice. But all the add-on crap can be done on xbox surround sound projection screen...
