i undertook the topic question wrong... basically, if its like halo spoofs like red vs blue thats ok.. I mean that would be acceptable, but if they made like an actual movie... bunige would look like shit.
I mean HALO is good in books, and good in game.. thats it... if it went to the movies, then so much would be changed that halo would be lost... its already enough that they changed so much from the books to the games...

...umm i thought the books where made AFTER the game? eh anyway i disagree the movie (if directorally done correctly) would be outstanding...my only problems would be the covies and flood...how would they be made? if they were like Aliens (animatronics and mild cg) then that would be awsome but if they were done with only cg (final fantasy) then it would suck munky bullz.Spartan (Foods?) wrote:i undertook the topic question wrong... basically, if its like halo spoofs like red vs blue thats ok.. But i think halo has a good enough story line to become a movie .... and i dont get what equinox meant by interactivity making it bad? The only interactivity is the game and you....halo already has the storyline created and its linear so its not like you have multiple actions to choose from to make multiple endings so the story is there your just playing it...so pretty much it would be just like you watching a friend play halo (yeah i know it would hurt) but its still kick ass.

Dood its been done, Resident Evil (which i liked sequal kinda was dull tho), *cough* street fighter *cough* yeah that was a kick in the balls to watch, Mortal Kombat (first one was corney but fun to watch all others sucked), Mario Brothers (sucked), Double Dragon (sucked), Ok oK OK so they all sucked but thats because they picked bad stories to begin with (sept for resident evil which is probably why it did better then the rest). Halo has an awsome story line so it would be great. Oh i forgot street fighter the animated movie was great.UCC wrote:I would have to agree it would suck. I mean who wants to see a movie thats Based on a game? I mean a game being based on a movie YEA but not the other way around.
AND MOST games based off movies sucked! i can't remember the last time i played a good game based off a movie...Riddick was neat but the movie i heard sucked, Need For Speed Underground was basically 2fast2furious, and the 2fast2fuirous Official game sucked. I think the directors are just picking the wrong games to do movies of. The new final Fantasy Advent Children may be good but the storyline is so off-center many people wont like it....
I think if they picked ...lets say Halo, counter-strike, Half-life, Grand Theft Auto (if done like scareface style) Psi-ops, Silent Scope, King of FIghters, Hitman, Silent Hill, Devil May Cry...on...and on...and on....
I mean if they have good writers and directors that have the heart and soul and know how to preserve the funness of the videogame while keeping it a "movie" experience it would be good....

if m$ waved a couple $$$$$$$$ then they would make a movie, but the story is not to good to be done into a movie.

but seriously guys, do u think theyll ever make one? unlikly. if they do itll be some shiitty company noone ever heard of and screw it up so badly that no one would ever want anything to do with halo again. and it would have to be a year after h2 is released AT LEAST. face it guys: not a chance. id watch it, but it wont happen.

Not trying to pick a fight just pointing out my opinions vs his. I mean our views really dont matter anyway and if they did then we would know...but i doubt they will so this is a nice junction of thoughts right UCC?UCC wrote:uh GET OFF MY CASE it's would suck I mean whats it's ganna be about..... Sh*t we already know for one and how long to you think it would take them to build a working ghost and warthog ect.... I mean I hope you were talking about RL movie and not **** like anime or some cartoony ****.
ANYWAY...back to the discussion, Most movies we already know whats gonna happen or what its gonna be about *cough* lord of the rings *cough*, the fun is seeing how they come to those conclusions and the directors ideas from what he read/saw/played of the material laid out infront of him. I think they would do real life with tons of cg. The warthog isn't that hard to make (think aliens 2 jeep that is heavy modified), the ghost neither they would make the actor(s) ride somthing on a bluescreen/greenscreen back ground and just cg the ghost in...(not hard with the unlimited resources they would probably have with microsoft behind them). They couldnt "build" a "working" ghost because he havn't figured out how to levitate yet (hovering donest count because its not stable like the ghost is). So i was hoping you weren't serious about "building" a ghost.
And besides i like anime (true its not popular as it should be ...and i blame pokemon and beyblade and yugioh), there has been revolutionary animation that have changed the way all movies have been shot such as in the matrix...(not the animatrix the matrix trilogies themselves). A lot of new movies are using semi-anime elements but most people dont notice because they aren't into it. But this is for another thread ...watch princess mononoke, ninja scroll OR the new Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence coming out this friday in theatres...They are top-notch not "kiddy-like" cartoons truely adult/teen entertainment.

thats right man... good job...
DIR! im just saying...if lighting struck twice and hell froze over...then they would make a halo movie, why hasn't anybody posted a noob movie yet? you know of like real life drunken people dressing up as master cheif in there super cardboard box armor and foam tubing assult rifle? Those are fun, ya know like they did for starwars...Spartan (Foods?) wrote:armed&triggerhappy wrote:but seriously guys, do u think theyll ever make one? unlikly. if they do itll be some shiitty company noone ever heard of and screw it up so badly that no one would ever want anything to do with halo again. and it would have to be a year after h2 is released AT LEAST. face it guys: not a chance. id watch it, but it wont happen.![]()
