Xinject and corrupted ppfs?

Post by Spammy »

I have been having some strange problems lately. It seems that if I inject any bitmaps with Xinject it will work fine when I upload it to my xbox. But, if I make a ppf patch for it, it will work the first few time I patch it(after clearing the caches). But then, it will slowly start corrupting the bitmaps that were injected with Xinject. For example, I made a snowing in BC patch. The snow looked fine at first. But then, a few days later, I went to patch BC and when I started the level, it was snowing matrix-scrolling blocks of green and blue lol. And this isn't the only patch tht has become corrupted. So if anyone knows how to fix this or what I can do to prevent this please tell.

you could try injecting the bitmaps with HMT v3.5, that always works for me. That's a pretty funny mod though, why don't you post it.

HMT3.5 won't get corrupted. But you can't inject all bitmaps with it. Like bumpmaps or the x8y8r8 or whatever textures. With Xinject you can. Its just that ppf's become corrupted after using them to patch a map a few times.

As for the snowing scrolling blocks...it is up already. It is supposed to be just snow, but once again the bitmaps corruption kicks in. I even put up a *fixed* ppf but it became corrupted after I used it a few times too. I don't know why it does that. So, when I make a mod that I've injected bitmaps into with Xinject, I just load up the whole map onto my HDD and then when I want to play, I just use boxplorer to move them to the X drive. I tried converting the X8Y8R8 format to a DXT3 so I can inject it with HMT3.5 but it loses quality and becomes kind of pixelated. So I don't like that. Oh well. If anybody finds a way to fix it or could tell me why this happens I would like to know. Thx.
