im trying to mod my xbox and i was just trying to open the map in HMT (like it says in evryery tut, all 5 mil of em) and it says 'map is compressed, decompress?' i click yes it says 'not spported yet..why is it on the list then?.... good question...' the it says 'map decompressed' and then never opens

wtf is wron?

and yes, i HAVE tries serching only to get 4000 results of tuts sayng 'ok now open ur xbox map in HMT'...

lol, hmt doesn't support map decompression. Open your compressed map in sparkedit, it'll decompress the map to a temporary file in the folder which sparkedit resides in. Copy the temporary file somewhere else and rename it to "whateveryoulike.map" it will now open in hmt. Once you're done your modding open halo and go into the level you were moding. Ftp to your box, all the editable map files are held temporarily on either x, y, or z. If you were editing a multiplayer map, delete cache003.map and replace it with you modified level (renamed to cache003.map). (for sp i think its cache002.map, but i don't remember). then go back into halo and play the map you modded and if all goes right it should load and there's your mod. If it freesez at any point then you screwed up when you you making your mod.

And don't complain you fukin noob, i don't give a shit how many results you got when you did a search, it wouldn't have taken long for you to find one with the info you needed. And never ever complain about hmt, monoxide spent countless hours on that app, just because your a dumbass and can't figure out how to use it properly doesn't mean theres something wrong with it. It's assholes like you that caused monoxide to leave the halo moding community.
