Mine is, but it hasn't always been near it. Sometimes I just used a long ethernet wire or had this set up:

Xbox----Cat5 wire----wireless router ---------wireless receiver in other room----my PC

my xbox is up in my room... I take it downstairs once a month to update the software on it... and add some ppf's to hce...

I have my pc on a table in the "dining room", with a tv & modded xbox on a table behind me so my xbox is pretty much always connected to my pc.
I do some sort of Halo hacking, or playing, almost every day, so I need to transfer caches a lot.

...in the living room I've got my Halo LE xbox on a different tv, with a hella long crossover back to the modded xbox, pretty much just for Halo, or RTCW, Mechassault, Rb63, Metal Arms, etc....but mostly Halo. heh

Now I just need to mod my "Hbox" for modded lan games!

Long story short, yes. My pc is by my xbox.

Mines in two different rooms and i jusr have it hooked up to my limkseys network and the inter net. I use a 25 foot long eathernet cable.

About a huge 50 cat-5e cable. It gets annoying going back and forth but its worth it.

Yep, I have a Linksys hub and 2 PCs with 120 gig ,2 modded Xboxs with 80 gig drives ,2 27" TVs ,and room for 2 more Xboxs. All hooked up, all the time, in my living room, and 3 hooked up when a friend comes over, I transfer files to all 3 in a few seconds,with FXP and play. Can download a mod and have it on all boxes in no time. This is also so I can load avi. movies, game backups, music, new software,and anything else I can think to do with the BOX. I BE HAVIN FUN

PS Dam I wish I could get an ethernet cable to your house, xorange-anybody,for some kickass LAN games

I carry mine around depending on how serious my modding is, if i just wanna patch a ppf, i just send it with a 50 foot cat 5 but if i plan on doing some serious hardcore modding, injection etc. then i put it next to my computer.

I keep my main computer in my bedroom, but my scholarship computer (computer given to me as part of a scholorship) I keep in the same room as 2 of our modded XBoxes and TVs. (college is so much better than real life, ay?)

manipulator, what kind of scholarship did you get, or what is it called, I haven't reached college yet, but I am planning for it. (junior in HS right now) thanks.

P.S. do you recommend a college?

also, sorry about the off topic, my computer is in the same room, I use a crossover cable to connect the two.
