Converting an MP map to SP?

Has anyone thought of this? I know nothing of converting maps, but if this was done, do you think it would get rid of the splitscreen?
It's been done, the map is called the void, it takes the BSP of D40_Space and replaces BG with it, it's a completely rebuilt map http://files.halomods.com/viewtopic.php?t=4831
And no you can not get rid of splitscreen, there is still splitscreen in singleplayer/cooperative, they both use the same levels
