Saving Progress In Co-Op

First of all I would like to say that I am a new member hear and am really impressed by this site. I have been playing halo (xbox and pc) since they came out and have not found suitable replacements yet. My problem is that I have ruined 6 copies of halo for xbox and 2 xbox consoles while trying to attempt tricks and glitches that require days and sometimes weeks for their respective setups and executions. What I really need is for someone to come up with a way to save checkpoints in multiplayer so that they can be stored individually and restored after the xbox has been shut down and restarted. I thanks anyone who responds and I hope that someone has a way to accomplish this goal.
