I'm having trouble using this tutorial. I'ved got the correct relflexives, but when I put them in HMT and reverse the pairs and subtract Magic for two relexives, when i subtract the answers of one from the other, the answer is never something small. I always get this answer FFFFFFFFFFFFFF64
Do i subtract the magic of the offset, in the map it was originally from, cause i've been doing that and it still doesn't work. Someone help me!!!

your problem would be that you started at the bottom of the list. take the one above and subtract the one below and you have the size of the one below.

Man I messed with this for a while and it's definitely not for amateurs. I finally decided to scrap it and start again with a clear head some other time. I appretiate the examples, but I think it could use a bit more. I got to about step 18 and my head exploded.

There's an easier way finding the reflexives, just extract the meta with HMT and open the XML file, and it says the offset location of the reflexive! Very easy if you don't like to look.

That sounds promising, thats one of the things I was having problems with. I basically don't understand the structure of that indice/indice/vertice section. Pokecancer mentions the first second and third indice reflexive, but it would help to show where the first second and third are in each section. And when It comes to replacing the 28f8 bytes of data it would also helo to double check the start and stop offsets, I mean do I just +0x28f8 and copy everything in between? I don't know I'm still pretty tired, maybe it will make more sense next time. Thanks again Pokecancer.

08896480 05000000 04000000 00000000

those are the three reflexives. read it before asking questions and i wont respond personally to anyone who pm's me asking for help. if you can't follow this, maybe it's a little too advanced for you to be working on. work on reflexives and dependancies first. you also need to understand hex. when i say copy 0x28f8, do it. copy everything starting from that offset.

When I patch BG with the pinetree.ppf and play it i just get this wierd looking fern with giant thin platforms sticking out of it, the model looks this way too.

at the very beginning of the tut when i extract the meta for the pine tree from halo (level 2, not the game), am i supposed to check the recursive box?

also, i patched my bg cache with the fixed pine tree ppf, and i got a bunch of pine trees, but they were really messed up (very low detail) and i went rite through them when i walked into them :?
