HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I've been having a debate with my brother about this: he says the engineers were never meant to have them, and points this out in the book. I said, "Ok, but back when the level Silent Cartographer was being made, they put that feature. They decided to cancel doing that and decided not to take it out of the game since you wouldn't see the Engineers anyway." He argued that HMT included that feature, but I told him that HMT only shows you what's in the file, nothing imagine or supposed. He then argued that since the Halo books were written before Halo PC came out, that they put that feature in for modders to play with. He said that the only way my argument could be valid is if some trace of any file could be found in the XBOX maps for "engineer force field". (Since the xbox maps and the books came out at the same time).

So my question is, can anyone find that in the XBOX map file?
I don't mod XBOX maps, so if anyone can answer this question, it would be appreciated. Thanks!
