Yoyorast Island's Mongoose (ATV) Tag...

Ok, I'll probably be flamed for mentioning this, but is it by any
means "possible" to inject this tag into an Xbox map like Bloodgulch say, and either replace it with the Warthog for example, or add it fully to the map?!

From what I've read on other Forums, the answer seems to be:

"No, no, and definitely not! Halo CE Tags "never" have, and "never" will work on Halo NTSC or Halo PAL"...

...So, can anyone clarify that for me?! Or is it actually "possible", but too difficult to bother trying?!

Thanks for reading!

Karlos

I think it can be done.

Definetly 100% possible, it only takes a few minutes, just recrusive extract with HHT, inject into the map, then swap the warthog's model, coll, phys, etc to the ATV.

Thanks for your replies...

...But I can't seem to open Halo CE Map Files with HHT... Only Halo PC Map Files will open, so do I need a Special Plug-In to enable me to do this?! Thanks...

(And the same goes for all other programs too)...

Karlos

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

You mean something like this :

Yes, something like that!!!

...Wow, did you only just do that?

Was it simple to do?

Any chance of a Tutorial?

Ok, enough questions, but yes, that is exactly what I'm trying to do!

The vision of riding past someone with a Rocket Launcher in hand and then shooting them, and making them fly through the air works wonders for me, even if I do end up going flying in the Mongoose myself! :wink:

It would just make Blood Gulch so much more fun than using a Warthog, and Sidewinder too!

I'm not giving up, but I am having trouble getting Halo CE maps to work in such programs as Spark Edit, HHT, HMT etc... There must be a reason why! :(

Well for one, you will not be able to open any CE map inside Sparkedit. Only PC and Xbox. Sorry, I'm not a good tutorial guy, but I will say to use HHT5 . This stuff is much easier to learn and understand once you can grasp how to make a CE map(Read H.E.K.). Once you get that, it opens up a lot of possibilities. This was something I did quite awhile ago to test bringing CE stuff into Xbox. My main goal was to bring things to Halo2, but the possibilities just aren't quite there yet.

Update for all interested...

Still no luck, and having been successful in the Wraith from AOTCR into BLOODGULCH for the Xbox, that worked perfect, and it also lead me onto making the Wraith driveable in AOTCR too, and made SP so much more fun, but if I could just drive around with the Mongoose instead of the Warthog for example, then that really would be awesome, but I still need to work out how to get the Mongoose into Bloodgulch first, and then we can go from there...

The problem is though, unless I can find a Halo PC modded map with a Mongoose already in it, then I think I'm stuffed, as with Halo CE, even if you do convert the maps from Halo CE to Halo PC using HMVC, it still doesn't really help at all once open in such programs as HHT and HMT, as you can't extract / rescursive extract meta, view bitmaps, or really do anything, so that conversion program has to be redeemed as kind of useless to say the least...

I do have HEK now, but a Tutorial on how to do something like what I am trying to do might be nice, as I'm not really sure what I'm doing with it at the moment...

...All seems quite easy in theory I reckon, (Mongoose in Bloodgulch for Xbox), so why isn't it? Or is it just me? :wink:
