question about shooting out an elite or spartan

does shooting out an elite or spartan only for the plasma pistol? cuz when i try it with the smg, everytime i pull the trigger, the game freezes. i dont kno why, but it works fine for the plasma pistol. some help please?

I've never tryed it with anything else, but the rocket launcher should work also.

I'll expariment with it, and post back. (Maybe it shoots to fast?)

I've tried exactly what ur talkin about and yes it does shoot to fast cuz the same thing happened
