HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

I know how to change the sky to night and change to other textures that are darker, but could not find details on how to reduce,or remove the HAZE, and remove the SUN, in BGulch. Is it a bit map change, or can I do it with HMT's other controls, or do I have to hex edit the map? I would like to make it night time. I have used other ppf's that do this ,but can't use xorange's 200 tree ppf with the night mod that I have. I have some great ideas in the pipe,and want to add to this great mod site! Thanks guys

The fog you can edit under the "sky" listing, but if you are using hmt you will probably need a plugin. You can also edit this in hex, but I'm not going to list the offsets. An easy way to edit fog (because it can be a bit touchy if you want it darker, thicker, or whateveer) is to use HCE straight from the xbox. makes checking your work easy. As far as the light from the sun... try playing around with lighting and maybe even lenses.

also.... forgot one thing. The lighting on the ground in the level is one texture.. a lightmap. You may want to fool around with that a little in photoshop to edit how bright it seems from the sun.

Hey thanks, I had figured out most of this except for the fog part, the sun is len's. I don't have PS to darken the textures, so I have to do it the hard way with a converter, but you gave me a clue. I have most of the software for the Xbox ,but when stuff gets released every day you might not have the newest. I found that I was using an older version of HCE and the newer one is pretty nice stuff. I will be using it more now I had version .04 or close. I now have version .07 , is there a newer one? This is great, it was good info.

Swap the sun with ui/shell/black in the bitmaps it takes it out.
