Try opening BG in game and the editing your cache003.map file instead of the actual BG file.

so if I swap offsets in the cache003.map file on my x box will it work every time I play BG or is it like a one time thing( and have to be done over every time I want to play that mod?)

As long as BG is your last played level (I'm not sure what happens after you play another), you can play your mod.

right now offsets are mostly avalable for the cache files.. and i have only found one tool to convert a chache file back into a map file.. but that program had its limitaions as all do.. so edit the cache files.. the way the modding works is that u edit the cache file, then as long as u only play that map (if muilti u can only play 2 diff maps... same in single) otherwise they reset into another map and your changes are gone, K?
