Help modding

I was a serious Halo 1 modder. I spent 100s of hours working on levels. I have been soaking in the beauty of halo 2 and i just now have an interest in modding. Do you still use sparkedit and hmk? or do i need to download somthing new? Also can i get some tutorials. If it is similar to Halo 1 i should be alright but if somone could just give me some help.

well you cant use any of the old programs but there are some new good ones...ill give you a link to a file that has all the programs you need, and tutorials on how to use them (made by The 7th Sanctum) here

You do need new modding tools.
The process of modding Halo 2 rather than Halo 1 is completely different in ways.
Go to files forum and read up the tutorials there or go to the tutorial forum here.
