HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

im i big noob on modding,i only installed mods for halo pc but i want to learn how to get them on my xbox and how to make them,and im not sure where to start...so hers all i really want to do:

make all vehicles drivable(ex. make pelican drivable in AotCR,or in outskirts)
mess around with the guns and stuff(ex. make battle rifle shoot rockets)
mess around with characters(ex. be a honor guard,brute,hunter etc.)

all mods that i make are going to be for campaign
i want to make them for either halo 1 or 2, both for the xbox

my xbox is not modded in anyway at all,exept on halo 2 i used an action replay to put some savegames on,and they are modded with inft. invisibility,fo outskirts and gravemind.

i have an action replay,just incase i need it to upload my mods from my computer (i guess thats how you do it?)

and i would like use the method where you make the mods on your computer and upload them onto my xbox...if there is 1 like that?

and thats all.i hope im not posting in the wrong section and being a noob thats in the way or anything,cuz then id be embarressed ,but somebody please direct me on how to do this

i would also like to know if there are any other forums where people make mods for the public to download so they don't have to make them theirselves.

the last thing i would like to know is if anyone can make just one little tiny mod for me...on halo 2 or halo 1 ,make every vehicle drivable.for halo 2 make it on the biggest level that u know of,and for halo 1 make it on the silent cartographer or AotCR.

Well, welcome to Halo modding, the xbox side.

First of all, you will need to mod your xbox. Even though you could upload some modded game saves from the AR, you can't do much that way. You also need a modded xbox to create those mods.

Now, you could get a chip but since you already have an Action Replay, I'd go for the softmod way. Go to xbox-scene.com for info on that(look for UDE or UXE if your xbox is a newer one). They have a mem-card installer in "the usual places".

Anyway, once you have it modded, you can use the same modding tools for Halo Xbox as you did for PC. HMT will work, HHT is designed mostly for xbox, Sparkedit will work, and the others as well.

To make mods, you have to download the map off of your xbox onto your PC. You can do simple mods with a xbox native program called Halo Cache Editor(also available in "the usual places"). But for the best mods, you have to transfer back and forth.

Halo 2 is a bit different. Right now, there are 3 programs that can be used with H2. Ch2r, H2edit and ADI. All have strengths and weaknesses.

Anyway, the first thing to do is mod your xbox.
