I HAVE GOT TO MOD MY XBOX....but i dont know what i need.....give me the information on what i need and the downsides of modding and the upsides of modding my xbox...these are some of the questions i need answered:

is a modding chip necessary?

if so, will it void my warranty of the xbox?

is there such thing as a modding software that has no requirements of a modding chip?

how do i replace modded maps?

are the maps stored on the hard drive?

what is default.xbe?

how do i find the root directory of the xbox?

what's MAME ON XBOX?

is it required?

where do i get it?

do they sell modding chips at electronic stores or only on the internet?

what are the benefits of having halo modded/xbox modded?

what are the downsides of having your xbox modded/game modded?(halo & halo 2[soon to be released])

what's the best modding chip you "pro" modders use?

how much are they?

where should i purchase one?

where is the cheapest place to buy a modding chip?

is there such thing as a "plug-in" modding chip?(goes into controller slot etc.)

*sigh* please answer these questions!

ok first off, no it is not required for you to get a mod chip... Go to this site and look for a tutorial for softmodding, when you find it, see what you need to do and if you dont want to do that, you can get a mod-chip which you WILL have to buy online... www.xbox-scene.com is the solution to all of those questions and MORE!

this is the tutorial I used http://www.maxconsole.com/?mode=tutoria ... &itemid=87 it's soft modding and I can do any(I think) halo modding some body with a mod chip can do

that is the best tutorial i have seen so far! Use that if you wish, it answers everything and takes it step by step

still no answer about voiding my warranty but i do hear that i do not need a mod chip....plz make these questions clear with yes's and no's

oh and um....it says i need to have mechassualt or 007 agent underfire......and i dont have any of them!!!

EDIT:the tutorial you gave me is...confusing 0.o

read the tutorial, and i dont think it voids your warranty, but who cares about that, i have never once needed to use it

well if your talking about the m|cro$oft warranty then if you have had your xbox for 90 days or more then that doesn't matter, I have a best buy 2 year warranty thing and they said they would take it back no question asked so I don't know...

You can also do it with Splinter Cell.

that still doesnt help....lol
EDIT: i dont think i'll do softmodding anymore so i'm going with a modchip.....what's the best mod chip you guys use?(CHEAP AND....GOOD)
