note: this is not a tut on how to play as a covie/flood. this is a tut on how to enable color choice in any covie/flood mod.
things you will need: hht 3 or 4, hmt3.5, a program that can conver/edit a dds texture, a mod where you play as a covenant or a flood(duh)
(be sure to make a backup copy of your mod)
step 1:open up your modded map in hmt3.5, and expand the tag "bitmaps."
go to all multipurposes of whatever you want to enable.(If you want color color enabled elites, go to characters\elite\bitmaps\(head, arms, legs, whatever) save that texture.
step 2: open the multipurpose in your program that can convert or edit dds textures. change the color of the area of wherever you want the color enableing to show up to [color=cyan]light blue.[/color]
step 3: import your moified miltipurposes with hmt3.5
step 4: open your modified map with hht4 or hht3. Expand the tag "shader model".
step 5: save and inject the meta of "characters\cyborg\shaders\armor" over all parts of the covenant/flood that you want to be "color enabled", then swap the dependancies to match those of which were originally there, exept the last one. the last dependancy will be how light reflects off of the character.
(if you inject over characters/elite/saders/elite head, your dependancies will be these in the following order:
characters\elite\bitmaps\elite head
characters\elite\bitmaps\elite head multi
nulled out
(however you want light to refect)
thats it! you are done! go make some good mods.
