well you download a complete cache file
So just rename your donwnloaded file to cache003 and transfer it to your xbox in the X,Y or Z folder (depending on where your cache files are)
Then play halo and play the map for which the mod was
Its always in the description of the mod, something lke "play blodgulch or something

Thats it

The Silent cartographer is differnet than other SP-MP conversions, it is a compressed map, not a cache.

so, this menas that you have to have Halo on your HardDrive, which most of y'all do already.

Patch the default.xbe with the patch in the SC rar file, and put it back in the halo folder, as some other name, such as big.xbe. Make a link to it in your dashboard ( Ex. EvoX: Item "Halo: Big XBE","f:\HDDLoader\PxGame6\big.xbe").

With the SC map, put it in the \maps folder as prisoner.map. Rename the original prisoner to soemthnig else, like origprisoner.map.

Launch the "Big" xbe, and play prosoner!

To have it replace a different map:

Open the map with a hex editor.

Near the top, it will say prisoner. change this to the name of another map (use the name of the file in the \maps folder not the actual name, such as beavercreek or putput or carousel)

Put it in the \maps folder as the name that you changed it to.

use a prog on your Xbxo such as PxHDD loader or something, you need a bigger hardrive than the stock 8 or 10gb

Your Xbox is modded, right? If not, follow the tuts here and on www.xbox-scene.com Pretty much, you need a modchip and a good sized hard drive (at least 120gb is good for holding a lot of games and stuff)

Well, you can fit Halo on a stock HDD. As long as you don't have a lot of other crap on it already.

I named SC as prisones.map(internal and compressed map name). Then I hexed the patched default.xbe and changed all references to prisoner to prisones. Works great. Now my original xbe loads prisoner and the patched one loads SC(AKA prisones). I also have the patched xbe running a seperate ui.map named ul.map lol.

Works great and looks nice in the MP selection screen.

just search "the usual places" for PxHDDLoader

as for the text to the item for the other halo xbe, you would paste that in your evox.ini folder if you Have EvolutionX, somewhere in the menu section

How do you get to the evox.ini file? Dose it matter that I soft modded mine?

the .ini file should be wherever the evoX xbe is, if it is an older version it might be called menu.ini. I haven't messed with softmodding, but on my chipped boxes it is in the root of C

I got a new question. I am trying to install pxhdd loader. I put it in C drive. The readme said to put a line in my MENU.INI EvolutionX config file. What dose this mean? All I found was the evox.ini and it wasnt even a folder.
