skinning: what to do next

1.I just downloaded photoshop cs trial how do I put the .dds plugin into photoshop??? I don't see a plugin folder. Am I using the right version??
2. how do get the object I want to skin into photoshop???
3. are there any alternate methods of skinning. like with a program that is free.

1. Are you sure it dosn't have a plugin folder?
2. Go to HMT and unfold the bitmap foldout. Click the bitmap you wana skin then click extract. Then just load it in Photoshop. P.S-you need the plugin.

Seriously though, you could use MSPaint if you wanted to. Just get a dds to bitmap conveter (I know one exists cause I have one; came with the Direct X SDK) and edit it with your program of choice, convert back and inject.

I try to import a texture and it says it must be a dxt2 or dxt3.(something like that....). how do I change it to what HMT wants?

i got the same problem,it says it needs to be dxt1 or dxt3

I figured it out. first u look at what dxt it is when you save it. usally dxt 1 or 3. then when u save it in photoshop a screen will pop up with a bunch of options on it. click either dxt1(with the alpha) or dxt3 it depends on what dxt it is in hmt. hope that helps.
