Using HCE on an NMP map?

Can I load up a halo NMP cache map and open it with HCE, change a thing or 2 then play it? Would I play it in regular halo or halo nmp?

Well, it depends on the map. If too much stuff was moved around in the construction of the NMP map, then HCE may not be able to edit stuff. HCE uses predefined offsets for stuff, and if they are moved around when adding a tag or other, things will be at different offsets and HCE will yield "uknown" for what it can't find.
