I have HCE on my xbox but im not sure how to use it. I want to put 8 Hogs in BG, disable weapons and add low damage rocket launchers to the hogs. With HCE I could at least make 8 hogs and disable weapons right? How would I do that?

I thought you meant HCE like for the HPC. Confused me there
Ok well, for most of this you will probably need HMT 3.5.
1. Open up a clean cache003 of BG
2. Unfold the vehicle foldout and replace the ghost's/tank's with warthogs.
(That will only get you 6 but if you want, you can change a scenery and/or gun to the warthog, then just remove it using SE)
3. Unless you re-model the hogs gun to look like a rocket launcher, you cant make it a rocket launcher. Instead, using HMT 3.5 slow down the speed of the hog gun and replace the gun's projectile with a rocket projectile. To make the rocket do less damage, go to the damage fold out, click on rocket, and lower it's damage down.
4. And for the weapons, ummm you could either move them under the map in SE so no one can get to them or somewhere else ;P.
NOTE: If you do switch one of the weapon's to a hog then don't move that one below the map
5. Save and FTP back to your xbox.
Good luck

HCE = Halo Cache Editor, very similar to HMT but runs on the Xbox and also can PPF patch cache files and stuff.
this will be easy to do w/o using HMT
BTW in Xbox BG there are only 2 tanks, so if you swap the tanks and ghosts to hogs that will give you 8 hogs.
So, in HCE, open Bloodgulch, and go to page 6, this is the vehicles page. change ghost and scorpion to warthog.
Go to page 7 now, this is the vehicle physics page, change all to warthog.
Now you have 8 hogs in BG! Now for the rockets.
Go to page 2 ,this is the projetiles page. Swap the Warthog bullet with rocket.
Turn down the damage:
Go to page 9, this is the explosion damage page.
Highlight "rocket" ,and hit "X", this brings up the meta.
There are 3 damage settings, Minimum damage (default 80), Max damage (min.) (default 300), and Max Damage (max.) (default 330)
Highlight each damage setting, press "a" ,and use the d-pad to change this number ,then press "a" again to go to the next one. (to have a bit of fun turn up the force on the rocket to 30 or 40)
Finally, to get rid of the other weapons.
Page 3 is the weapons page, change ALL of the weapons to warthog gun, this will cause them to fail to load and you will have no gun and there will be no guns.
I was doing this as I wrote this and it worked just like it should, 8 hogs that shoot low damage rockets (with some force for fun) ,and no weapons.

OK I just noticed that you said you are new with using HCE, so here we go:
play BloodGulch.
go into HCE ,and press the white button. This will pull up all the maps that are in the cahce. Press A to select bloodgulch, and you will them have about 16 pages of stuff to edit.
How to swap properties:
In pages like the weapons and vehicles pages, there will be 2 columns, most will both say the same thing:
Pistol---------------Pistol
Assault Rifle-------Assault Rifle
Plasma Nade------Plasma Nade
etc.
The first column is the item itself, and the second column is what you want to change it to. To change the properties of a weapon (like making the hog shoot rockets), go to the projectiles page (page 2, use the L and R triggers to toggle between pages), scroll down with the d-pad to highlight warthog, Press "A", and go up to Rocket and press "A" again.
Now, in the column, it will say:
Projectiles:
Rocket Launcher--------Rocket Launcher
Warthog-----------------Rocket Launcher
to edit meta, just highlight what you want to edit ,press "X" and a menu will pop up with all the things you can edit. Use the D-pad to scroll up and down, press "A" to select what to change, use the d-pad to change the data, and press "A" so deselect that data to scroll up and down again. Press "B" to exit the menu and go back to the pages.
When you are done editing, press "Y", and it will save the map, then you can play it.

People know how to do it, but nobody wants to have to explain it to everybody all the time.
If you don't even know how to FTP to your Xbox then you should go read the turorials on
www.xbox-scene.com before you post here

when you extract the hce file, there is a folder, another folder, then the HCE stuff.
Take the second folder and ftp THAT over, so that the file structure looks like: ?:\apps\hcev08\default.xbe, instead of ?:\apps\hcev08beta2\hcev08\default.xbe.
If it is loaded on there the wrong way, your dash will not detect it, it only looks for a default.xbe in each folder in \apps, but doesn't look inside deeper folders.

To get HCE:
Go here:
http://hce.sourceforge.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=20
Register on the forum ,and post a comment in the above thread asking to be a betatester. This may take a couple of days, but when you become one you will have access to the betatester forum which has the downloads for HCE 0.8 beta 2 and beta 3.
spesalfred:
You would put HCE in a folder with all your other apps ex. F:\apps\HCE08\default.xbe
What BIOS are you running? If your BIOS only searches for xboxdash.xbe, then rename the EvoX xbe to xboxdash.xbe, and the M$ dash xbe to msdash.xbe, and make sure that evoX knows the filepath of the new M$ dash (in ini file)

hmm, it shows up for me.
In the evox.ini file, there is a section at the top that says:
MSDashBoard = "c:\xboxdash.xbe"
change this line to whatever the filepath is for your M$ dash, sutch as "c:\msdash.xbe"
